There is no doubt that Kenya provides the safari goer with one of
the most rewarding African experiences. Kenya is blessed with stunning
scenery, fascinating tribal peoples and quantities of wildlife that ensure
excellent game viewing. Understandably, Kenya is a very popular destination
and this has resulted in a reputation for mass tourism, swarms of mini-buses
and a very crowded safari style.
Thankfully Kenya is also blessed with several boutique safari operators,
those who pride themselves in offering a personalised, intimate and
traditional safari, using small, tented camps in private game viewing
concessions and in the more remote areas of the National Parks. Our
Traditional Kenya Safari offers you the chance to experience all the
essences of Kenya, well away from the "madding crowd" and you will
be accompanied by one of Kenya's most knowledgeable and friendly safari
guides - usually Tim Trench.
This safari also offers a wonderful array of safari modes in that there are
day and night game drives, boating on Lake Baringo, the opportunity to horse
ride and there are guided walks. Whilst in the Mara you also have the option
to take a hot air balloon safari (at additional cost). The habitats explored
are equally diverse and include the lush forests of Mount Kenya's foothills,
the semi-arid Laikipia, the impressive bird life of the Rift Valley Lakes
and the rolling savannah of the Masai Mara.
Note - The safari operates on set departures for a maximum of twelve
travellers. Alternatively private safaris can be designed to suit your
family or a small group. When designing a personal safari we work with you
to tailor made an experience to suit your personal interests.
Day 01 & 02 - Laikipia Plateau, Traditional Tented Camp
Having been collected from the airport or your hotel for a safari briefing,
your day begins with the drive to the Laikipia Camp on Solio Ranch. Spend
two nights on this private wildlife conservancy where accommodation is in
traditional safari tents, each with an en suite bathroom.
Day 03 - Aberdare National Park, The Ark
After breakfast depart for the Aberdare National Park, Kenya's largest
rainforest and rhino sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at The Ark, a unique
tree-hotel and night game-watching haven
Day 04 & 05 - Lake Baringo, Island Camp
It is a scenic Rift Valley drive to Lake Baringo, followed by a short boat
trip, which will take you to Island Camp for your two night stay in this
delightful tented lodge perched high on a shady island. Activities include
boating, guided walks, bird watching and a visit to the nearby Lake Bogoria
Reserve with its spectacular hot springs, scenery and flamboyant pink
flamingos.
Day 06 to 09 - Masai Mara, Traditional Tented Camp

Valley passing through the vivid green tea highlands of Kericho to the
famous Masai Mara Reserve. Arrive in the late afternoon at a traditional
